Description
This hazard communication course satisfies the general training requirements of OSHA’s Hazard Communication standard 1910.1200. Upon completion of this training the learner will be able to:
1. Recognize the purpose, scope and elements of the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) and the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of labeling chemicals.
2. Identify how chemical hazards are determined.
3. Identify the purpose of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and their components.
4. Identify chemicals and their hazards through labeling and warning practices.
4. Recognize the physical and health hazards inherent with hazardous chemicals.
6. Explain ways to prevent adverse effects through proper procedures/personal protective equipment.
